Norman Lundin has continuously used the theme of light in his paintings, particularly the horizontal rays of the coastal Pacific Northwest. Always a fan of Washington's famous gray skies, Lundin takes the portrayal of light very seriously.

"This drawing is one of a series in which light is the subject matter: the room is a vehicle, existing only to explain the light. I believe that subjective, expressive content is present in my work; however, I spend most of my time with formal concerns. The other will just be there," says Lundin.
