Joseph Park is a Canadian-born Korean artist living in America. Park's paintings are often narrative in nature, illuminating situations not always immediately explained to the viewer. He draws on American and Asian pop culture to explore history, cinematic stories and his own concept of pictorial realism. Park worked as the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) sign shop artist in residence in 2004, employing the production techniques and palette used by SDOT with some slightly altered results.
