Mary Iverson's oil painting, Cargo, located behind the reception desk, depicts an impressive accumulation of shipping containers arranged in massive stacks at the Port of Seattle. Using an intricate network of guidelines, Cargo employs dramatic one-point perspective to create an immense collection of multicolored boxes. The boxes form a geometric landscape that stretches endlessly towards the horizon. In compositions like Cargo, Iverson explores the expanding role of container terminals and imagines what they may look like in the future. He addresses "issues of accumulation, consumption, industry, time and ambiguity."
