Anna Skibska's artwork—delicate, seemingly weightless crystalline structures—works directly with the exposed wooden beams of the library's roof. The work softens the building's industrial character with glass "scarves" that appear to be draped over the straight lines of architectural elements. Skibska's works are composed of small glass rods that have been heated with a torch and stretched. According to her, they are similar to books in that they "are not [an] end in themselves."
