Seattle Parks and Recreation 1% for Art and community support
A gleaming glass artwork filters soft light onto the visitors of Evans Pool, one of the most heavily used pools in the city. Seattle Parks and Recreation commissioned Paul Marioni and Ann Troutner to create artwork for the Green Lake Community Center as part of an effort to restore and improve the 1930s complex. The pair created a 5-by-26-foot glass mural, made of approximately 300 unique sand-cast glass tiles. Seven life-size human figures swim through an underwater scene surrounded by seashells, coins and buried treasure.
