This year we will celebrate the 10th annual Mayor's Arts Awards, and you're invited to help mark this milestone. Mayor Mike McGinn will present the awards at a ceremony, Friday, Aug. 31 at Seattle Center in partnership with Bumbershoot®: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival.
The public nominates recipients for the award, and the Seattle Arts Commission recommends recipients to the mayor for final selection. The awards, which are non-monetary, are presented each year.
"The arts are one of Seattle's greatest strengths and a powerful avenue of expression for our diverse communities," said McGinn. "I'm proud to live in a city where so many people and organizations are dedicated to making a difference through art and culture."
