The arts are a doorway to lifelong learning.

"The arts can help students become tenacious, team-
oriented problem solvers who are confident and able to think creatively. These qualities are especially important in improving learning among students from economically disadvantaged circumstances."

-Arne Duncan
U.S. Secretary of Education

All children deserve every opportunity to succeed in school and to have an education that prepares them for lives of success, contribution and meaning. The arts are fundamental to any quality education, but are not equally available to all students in Seattle's public schools.

Through strategic partnerships in the arts, the community and with the Seattle school district, we are committed to ensuring that all students have access to an education rich in the arts.
