The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs 2009 budget allocation is $6.9 million. The agency receives funding from three primary sources:
General Fund ($2,941,814)
Provides support for the department's general operations, including funding programs. The general fund does not provide direct support to the public art program.
Admissions Tax ($1,186,394)
Twenty percent of admission-tax revenues (excluding men's professional sports) supports our efforts to improve services to artists, arts organizations and communities.
Municipal Arts Fund/Public Art ($2,807,904)
One percent of city capital improvement project funds is set aside for the commission, purchase and installation of public artworks. A separate city fund for capital-improvement projects, earmarks an additional $170,000 for maintenance of the city's public art collection.
