Adopt
Seattle Animal Shelter is open to the public for adoptions from 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We are closed on Mondays and Fridays, as well as all City holidays.
General Adoption Information
- It is important to consider the type of pet that would best fit into your family and lifestyle. Please see our Deciding to Adopt guide first.
- Adoption surveys are reviewed as they are received. We are not able to hold available pets for adopters for any reason. For your convenience, our online available pet listings are updated live. If a pet is adopted or is no longer available, it disappears from the website almost immediately. Please be sure to refresh your web browser to update the webpage.
- If you find a pet you are interested in on our website, click its picture or name to see the pet's details and follow the instructions on the adoption listing. Please see our Adoption Process page for more details on how to adopt.
