Every year, oil and other automotive fluids find their way to Puget Sound and other waterways, hurting wildlife and habitat. Seattle Public Utilities’ Automotive Maintenance Program wants to help you make sound choices.

Participate in our free Auto Leaks Workshop and learn from a Certified Automotive Instructor. Have your car inspected, learn where most leaks occur, how to fix them, and get a free Vehicle Maintenance Check Kit.

Properly dispose of oil
Free oil pickup
Did you know that Seattle Public Utilities will pick up your oil for free? Place it in a one-gallon jug next to your recycling cart on collection day. Limit: two jugs per collection. See more ways to dispose of used motor oil.
More ways to recycle oil
