A wide range of items—including tires, scrap metal, and vehicle batteries—can be recycled. Regular household garbage and many larger items are accepted for disposal.

Pay with: cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard. Make checks payable to "City of Seattle, Dept. of Finance" and have valid ID. See rates.

Save yourself a trip. It may cost less to have us pick up your item for you. Commercial garbage truck traffic is heaviest between 3 - 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Some items may require special preparation or are not accepted at Recycling and Disposal Stations. See Household Hazardous Wastes for how to safely dispose of household chemicals and other items that are accepted at the region’s Household Hazardous Waste facilities, but not at Recycling & Disposal Stations.
