Tree Service Companies With An Annual Permit

The fact that this department furnished you this list of contractors does not in any way mean that you are restricted to this list. The work they perform must be done in accordance with the City's guidelines and specifications. As the permittee you are responsible for ensuring that the pruning complies with International Society of Arboricultural (ISA)  ANSI 300 standards.

If you are planning to have work done on your planting strip trees, you, the homeowner, should refer to the following Client Assistance Memos for instructions on how to care for trees that are located in the planting strip. A permit is required to either prune or remove trees in your planting strip. For Tree Pruning or Removal permits refer to CAM 2302 . For Planting Strip Paving and Tree Planting Rules see CAM 2304 . The following is a list of tree service contractors who have a permit authorizing operation of equipment in the right-of-way (cannot impede vehicular or pedestrian traffic, and must have insurance and take precautions to assure pedestrian safety). The $146.00 permit fee may be waived if you contract with any one of the following listed companies. Please note: An Annual Equipment Permit does not allow a tree service to work on street trees without first obtaining a tree pruning/removal permit from the SDOT Arborists Office.
