Project overview
In fall 2017, crews completed construction for this Safe Routes to School project to make NE 110th St safer and easier for kids to walk and bike to school near John Rogers Elementary.
This project is part of Seattle's Vision Zero to end traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030 through design, education, and enforcement.

This project included:
- New sidewalk, curb ramps, curb, and gutters on the south side of NE 110th St between 39th Ave NE and 40th Ave NE
- Improvements to the asphalt shoulder on the north side of NE 110th St between 39th Ave NE and 40th Ave NE
- Providing pedestrian and bicycle safety education for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders
Schedule
Construction started in June 2017 and was completed in fall 2017.
Funding
The Safe Routes to School program is funding project design as well as the education and encouragement programs. Project construction is funded by the 9-year Levy to Move Seattle, approved by voters in 2015.
