Protecting Customer Parking – A Guide for Businesses Near Light Rail Stations in Seattle SDOT and Sound Transit have been working closely with station area communities to design on-street parking management strategies. Through this effort, many businesses located close to light rail stations have expressed concern about the impact of commuter parking on off-street parking lots. The City of Seattle created a tool kit to help businesses manage the existing off-street parking in light rail neighborhood business districts. The guide explains two strategies for using existing parking more efficiently:
