About

Closure Notice 5/22/23: The beach at Mt. Baker Park continues to be CLOSED today (Monday, May 22). We are working to remove and replenish sand/soil and cleanup an area following a vehicle fire at this location over the weekend. A reminder that Mt. Baker Beach is not open as a lifeguarded swim beach until June 24. See summer swim beach schedules here: https://fal.cn/3yrtJ

Mount Baker Park is a gentle ravine boulevard sloping down to Colman Park and the Mount Baker Bathing Beach on Lake Washington. Local residents picnic and play tennis here, or set the kids loose in a playground in the southwest corner off S. McClellan St. that was renovated in 2016. Others stroll down a wide pathway-under maples, mountain ash, and chestnut trees-to Lake Washington Boulevard and the beach. Restrooms are located partway down the path. The northernmost end of the park is the starting point for Bicycle Sunday.
