ABOUT THE PARK

This is a busy neighborhood park on a sunny day! There are two baseball fields with backstops, a play area with slides and climbing features, swings, whirl, large open green space, and complete with bathroom facilities.

HISTORY

Samuel Maple donated land for a school in 1865. The site was “moved” in 1900, again in 1909 and 1926 and then to this location in 1971. The first teacher at the school was named John W. Maple, and the playfield name was chosen from community suggestions.
