ABOUT THE PARK

Wrapped around the end of the water reservoir in the Maple Leaf neighborhood, this huge grassy area is perfect for Frisbee throwing. It has a big baseball field, a whirl, and swings, a soccer field, playground for the kids, a gazebo, and the historic Maple Leaf Reservoir building, all while being surrounded by neighborhood.

Acreage: 5.5

HISTORY

The playground is so named because it was transferred from “reservoir” property; the reservoir name being derived from the district in which it is located.

(Edited from the files of Don Sherwood, 1916-1981, Park Historian.)
