All Wading Pools and Sprayparks have closed for 2013 and will reopen in Summer 2014.
Lake Union Park has a spray feature. The park provides access to green space and the water and celebrates the cultural, maritime, and industrial heritage of the city and region.
May 25-Septermber 2, 2013
Daily 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
12 acres, hand carry boat launch, paths, waterfront
The Museum of History and Industry and the Center for Wooden Boats are both located in the park, and the South Lake Union neighborhood has lots of resturants, coffee shops and stores to chose from.
We will plan to open the wading pools on sunny days when the temperature is forecast to be 70 degrees or higher. On most days we will fill them half full, which is a 50% water savings…..but on the busiest days they will be filled to the top!
Parks uses the average of temperature forecasts from eight weather websites to determine whether to close. When that average temperature is forecast to be below 70 degrees, Parks makes the decision not to open the wading pools or sprayparks.
Our wading pool hotline, (206) 684-7796, is updated every morning by 9:30 a.m. If the weather looks iffy, it’s the best way to find out if the wading pools and sprayparks are open for the day or not.
