Adopt a cat for free at Seattle Animal Shelter this weekend
The Seattle Animal Shelter is bulging at the seams due to the ongoing surrender of multiple cats from an animal cruelty investigation. These cats require additional care and attention from shelter staff and volunteers. To help the shelter make space for these incoming cats, it is waiving adoption fees on all adult cats adopted this weekend, Nov. 3 and 4. (Licensing fees still apply.) This offer is made possible through a grant from the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation.
With this special offer, adopters pay only the cost of the license, if applicable, for a cat 6 months or older. Regular adoption fees are available online at: http://www.seattle.gov/animalshelter/adoption-fees.htm. License fees are required for Seattle residents and are $27 per cat.
These discounts apply to cats in the shelter and in foster care.
The adoption package includes:
"When we receive animals from a cruelty investigation, they often require significant medical care and treatment," says Don Jordan, Seattle Animal Shelter director. "This timely grant from the Foundation allows us to find loving families for our adoption cats so that my staff can focus their efforts on rehabilitating the cats that came from this ongoing investigation."
The Seattle Animal Shelter is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. for adoptions. It is located at 2061 - 15th Ave. W. The phone number is (206)386-PETS(7387). Animals available for adoption can be viewed online at http://www.seattleanimalshelter.org.
