Young people to learn about jobs, college
At employment & education fair
SEATTLE – Young people between the ages of 15-22 are invited to attend the annual Youth Employment, Education and Career Fair to meet and connect with local employers and college representatives, and learn about jobs and other community resources.
The fair will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19th, 2014, 1 to 4 p.m., at Seattle Goodwill, 700 Dearborn Pl. S, Seattle, WA 98144.
The event is sponsored by the Seattle Youth Employment Program (part of the Seattle Human Services Department) in partnership with King County, WorkSource Seattle-King County and Seattle Goodwill.
The Seattle Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is operated by the Seattle Human Services Department and has three program components: a School Year Program that provides youth, ages 14-21, enrolled in the Seattle Public High Schools, with academic support and work training; a Summer Internship Program, open to students, ages 15-17, enrolled in Seattle Public High Schools who meet the income and eligibility criteria; and an Out of School Youth Program, which focuses on youth, ages 16-21, who have dropped out of high school, to develop a plan to achieve education, personal and employment goals.
