Third Annual Freeway Park Day celebration cancelled

The third annual Freeway Park Day community celebration scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2013 is cancelled due to a rainy weather forecast.

The Freeway Park Association (FPA) and Seattle Parks and Recreation thanks all FPA members and scheduled participants.

The FPA, a membership supported non-profit, honors its members every year with a party in the park. FPA has been building community and improving Freeway Park since 1993. In partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, FPA has made great strides toward the enrichment of the Park and community. The Association engages its neighbors in a participatory dialogue about the future of Freeway Park. Its work includes upgrades to the park’s landscape, fountains and lighting, the installation of new park features such as kiosks and wayfinding sign posts, as well as diverse programming and events. Through all its work, the Association strives to increase community engagement and interest in the park
