Full closure of the S Jackson St and Second Ave S intersection, May 3-5
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 3 and continuing until Monday morning, May 6 at 6 a.m. the intersection of South Jackson Street and Second Avenue South in Pioneer Square will be closed to traffic to facilitate track construction for the First Hill Streetcar.

Mayor McGinn introduces new “Predictive Policing” software
Mayor Mike McGinn and Police Chief John Diaz announced today that new "Predictive Policing" software has been deployed in the East and Southwest Precincts. The software was designed by the University of California, Los Angeles in partnership with the Los Angeles Police Department. It has been used by police departments all over the nation to reduce crime through deep analysis of crime and location data.

Seattle’s snowplow routes are changed this year
The city's snowplow routes near your home and along your commute route may have changed this year, most likely for the better. To find out, see the map on Seattle Department of Transportation’s Winter Weather website, http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/winterweather.htm. The map is also in a brochure available at the city's public libraries, community centers, neighborhood service centers, and sent home in December with children in Seattle’s public elementary schools.
