The Office of Economic Development believes that Seattle can be the most innovative and equitable city in which to build your business or career, and that our economic resilience is rooted in the diversity of our economy and ingenuity of our workforce.  

  • Our Small Business Development team supports entrepreneurs that help drive our economy and are the connective tissue of our social fabric. We provide tailored business assistance through our own advocates and valued community partners. 
  • Our Only in Seattle team strives to build capacity in business districts as they deliver on their vision of vibrant neighborhoods and community ownership.  
  • Our Key Industries and Workforce Development team supports the growth and development of our diverse and strategic industry sectors, and the employers who provide pathways to meaningful careers. Our strategy also focuses on talent development by working with labor, education, and employers to equip the local workforce with in-demand skills that meet industry needs, help businesses grow, and build pathways to rewarding careers.
