Shoreline Alternative Mitigation Plan
Events & Activites
The public outreach plan for this project will provide for multiple opportunities for public participation.
Timeline
- In January, February, and March of 2005 a series of roundtable discussions were held with industrial property owners, neighborhood groups, environmental and public access advocates to identify some of the issues and questions that should be answered through this project (see background).
- In April 2005 a citizens advisory committee was convened. This committee will serve as a sounding board as the plan is developed and provide important insights as to how the goals of the plan can be realized.
- On June 29, 2005 a Public Workshop was held to present work in progress, information about how restoration projects are being identified, and to hear from the community on how they think these projects should be selected (view presentation (1.4 MB), base map (2.8 MB), reach maps(4.7 MB), and public comments).
- In the late winter of 2005, an open house was held to review a plan development and receive comment on emerging concepts.
- On May 22, an open house and discussion was held to present a preliminary plan and receive comments from the community. (View invitation flyer, brochure, presentation, and public comments.)
