Transformation is happening on many levels throughout Seattle -- in our neighborhoods, downtown, commercial areas, shorelines, and in our parks and open spaces. We are rebuilding streets and claiming new green space, improving our public transit system and encouraging transit-oriented development, and testing innovative design solutions that better protect our natural environment. In the face of rapid transformation, advance planning and good design are critical to managing the city's growth to allow for change that will benefit the city and region long into the future.
