New Northgate Design Guidelines will be effective August 1, 2010. Download a copy of the new guidelines here.
In the last two years, City staff pursued a number of initiatives to advance Northgate Urban Center planning. These included:
- completing a Final EIS about rezones in the Northgate Way corridor (published 12/21/09)
- completing amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan
- completing updates of Northgate's Design Guidelines (effective August 1, 2010)
- completing green street concept designs for 3rd and 8th Ave. NE by adopting intoCiy rules (pending August 2010)
- adopted a "voluntary transportation mitigation payment process" to simplify methods of evaluating and resolving transportation mitigation needs (October 2009)
- evaluating Northgate Stakeholders' final guidance in Advice Memorandum #11
- evaluating next steps

Stakeholders Since March 2004, a Stakeholders Group has provided broad-based representation of residential, business, property owner and citizen interests. This group has evaluated proposals and advised decision makers on key issues affecting the Northgate urban center. |
