Department of Executive Administration
The Department of Executive Administration (DEA) was formed in 2002 from elements of the Department of Finance. The DEA provided consumer protection, public safety, claims management, animal welfare, tax and payment processing services to the public; and contractual, risk management, technology and financial services for City departments. It was abolished in 2010 and its functions assigned to the newly-created Department of Finance and Administrative Services.
