CANOES’ mission is to (1) raise awareness within the City of Seattle of its vibrant and important Native American and indigenous nations’ culture; (2) to promote the hiring and advancement of Native American employees in the City of Seattle; (3) and to promote Native American leadership and participation throughout all City programs and services

Vision

Continue to strengthen the Race and Social Justice Initiative efforts;

Empower CANOES members at all levels;

Increase visibility and promotion of Native issues and initiatives within the City of Seattle and greater community;

Promote the hiring, retention and advancement of Native American employees by City of Seattle.
