The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs 2010 budget allocation is $6,621,356. The agency receives funding from two primary sources:
Admissions Tax ($3,679,474)
Seventy-five percent of admission-tax revenues (excluding men's professional sports) supports the department's general operations, funding programs and our efforts to improve services to artists, arts organizations and communities. This fund does not provide direct support to the Public Art program.
Municipal Arts Fund/Public Art ($2,754,882)
One percent of city capital improvement project funds is set aside for the commission, purchase and installation of public artworks. A separate city fund for capital-improvement projects, earmarks an additional $187,000 for maintenance of the city's public art collection.
